YS Admin Menu

Drag to sort, role visibility, white label settings - take full control of the wp-admin menu.

v1.2.4 WordPress Tools Free Download

After installing more than a dozen plugins, the left-hand menu in wp-admin becomes a long junk drawer – clients can't find the important stuff, and you don't want them touching things they shouldn't. YS Admin Menu gives you complete control over your backend menu: sort, rename, choose colors, and decide who sees what, all with drag-and-drop simplicity.

A single table to manage menus and permissions

All top-level and sub-menus are laid out on the same management dashboard: drag to adjust the order, check roles for visibility (Administrator/Store Manager/Editor, etc.), set "Admin Only," customize display names and colors, insert blank separator rows, or hide entire items directly. Individual user overrides are also supported.

Native menu style and white-label

The "Native Menu Style" module beautifies the wp-admin menu with a modern dark style. The white-label setting allows uploading your own LOGO to replace the menu icon, making the backend appear as a tailor-made system for clients, rather than a collection of plugins.

Fix

  • The side bar yield chart is broken when it is displayed; the dot points do not go in.After enabling the native menu style, when the window width is 783–960px (in portrait mode on tablets, or when you press "collapse menu") the submenus of the current menu will be squeezed into the icon column and covered over the content. Even if you click on a submenu, it won't be added to the page. Now the icon column has returned to WordPress' native layout: click on the icon to go to the page, and slide your mouse over the icon to pop out the submenu.
  • After disabling the native menu style, the right side of the menu didn't respond and the sub-menu on the phone wouldn't open. When deactivated, script and style files for uploading and downloading are no longer loaded; the backend returns to WordPress' native operation entirely.
  • I can't access the "Up to the Top" submenu after selecting it.After the original subpage that used to be at the bottom of the top navigation menu was upgraded (the URL is `admin.php?page=…`), everyone who clicked on it was prompted with "No access to this page." After the upgrade, it is now always enabled.
  • User rewriting:
  • When adding a new user, the default check box for "Allow access only to protected management menus" is no longer selected. For sites that do not have YS CART installed, this option will prevent that user from accessing any pages in the backend; an explanation is added to the card.
  • Users who have enabled visible lists can now edit the lists' bottom pages (articles, pages, category items, media) and upload them; previously, they could see the lists but couldn't open any of the items. Pages in the list are now submitted in a form (`admin-post.php') and are no longer blocked.
  • Hidden pages can be bypassed using the URL.Add a trailing slash to the `page` of the URL; hidden pages will still open as normal. This is now determined by the same value as for WordPress.
  • The storage settings will delete the columns that are not visible. The settings page only lists the menus available in the side panel of currently logged in users. Other administrators set the columns to "only for me," the menu for temporarily disabled add-ons, and the menu for only other characters; previously, saving a column would cause the entire column to disappear; now it is kept as is (columns that were previously removed by pressing × will still be removed).
  • People who are hidden from the console see 404 when they log in.Change it to the first list that he can see.
  • The "Native Menu Style" cannot be saved under the default value. The default value of 1.45 for the child row height is not compatible with the column spacing settings; the browser will block the saving. The row height column spacing has been changed to 0.05.
  • Group labels are almost invisible, and font settings have no effect. The default thinning is applied to two layers; the font size and spacing are applied only to the outer layer, not to the text. The default contrast is approximately 6:1; the font size and spacing settings take effect. The side bar icon display no longer leaves blank label columns; the keyboard no longer focuses on the labels.
  • When the entire selection list is not visible, the group label still displays. It will now be deleted together.
  • The "Color" field does not work with the built-in menu in WordPress. The built-in menu (console, articles, pages…) now applies colors; when the native menu style is enabled, the text and icons also change color.
  • The side bar style after export and import is turned offI've never saved a style station before; the exported file now includes the complete style content; when imported, the appearance is consistent with the source station.
  • The white "hidden WordPress logo" only takes effect in the backend. The toolbar on the front desk will now be hidden as well.
  • Even after checking the option "Clear all settings when uninstalling add-ons", some settings remain. Now it will be deleted along with the auxiliary settings created by this plugin (when there is no YS CART on the site, the configuration copy `ys_ec_menu_config` is included).

Add New

  • The toolbar follows the menu structure. When the menu hides a certain account, the link to the same page in the toolbar above (such as the message icon or the item under "Add item") is also removed, leaving no entry with the 404 error.

Change

  • The permissions filter `ys_admin_menu_rest_capability` for setting the API can only be tightened: `manage_options` must be present in all cases.
  • The description on the "Native Menu Style" page has been changed to the actual behavior: After enabled, the sidebar width of the desktop version is 300px, and the submenu is now displayed with a point-and-click arrow.

Attention

  • "Hidden" is for the organization interface; it is not a permission: the top menu item is not hidden from the sub-pages below it; the sub-pages should be set individually in the "All Menu (Including Sub-Menus)" sub-page; for truly prohibited functions, adjust the role permissions.

FAQ

Will I accidentally lock myself out?

No. Administrators can always access the plugin settings page and revert the menu at any time.

Does it support menus for third-party plugins?

Support. All top-level and sub-menus registered to wp-admin (WooCommerce, SEO plugins...) will appear in the management table.

Will my settings be lost after changing the theme or updating a plugin?

Independent storage settings, unrelated to the theme; new plugins will have their menus added after your set items, and you can drag them into place.
